RECPDCL Extends ₹1.25 Crore CSR Support to Kargil for Education, Healthcare and Water Infrastructure

RECPDCL, a REC Limited subsidiary, has allocated INR 1.25 crore under its CSR programme to strengthen education, healthcare and drinking water in Kargil, Ladakh. A 40-seat school bus was launched to improve student access, reflecting a commitment to remote community welfare and sustainable infrastructure.

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has extended financial assistance of ₹1.25 crore to the District Administration of Kargil in Ladakh under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The financial support aims to strengthen critical infrastructure related to education, healthcare and drinking water facilities in the remote district, benefiting nearly 1.95 lakh residents. As part of the initiative, a 40-seater school bus was flagged off on June 19, 2026 by REC Limited CMD Jitendra Srivastava in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Power, Government of India, RECPDCL, the Union Territory Administration of Ladakh and the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil.

According to officials, the school bus service is expected to improve transportation access for students living in difficult and geographically challenging regions of Kargil. The initiative aims to ensure safer and more reliable connectivity for children, enabling better access to educational opportunities.

RECPDCL said the CSR initiative reflects its commitment towards improving the quality of life in remote and underserved areas through sustainable infrastructure development. The company added that the support for education, healthcare and drinking water infrastructure is intended to create long-term social impact and strengthen essential public services in the region.
