Re-elections ordered in 38 polling stations at Srinagar, J&K
Re-polling will be held in the 38 polling stations of the Srinagar parliamentary constituency on April 13. The polling would be held between 7 am and 4 pm. The decision to order re-polling was taken after the elections were marred by violence.

The by-elections to the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat witnessed a meagre 7 per cent voting the lowest in 30 years. The Home Ministry had advised the ECI to postpone the elections.
However the ECI said that it was a constitutional mandate to conduct the polls before April 16. A large number of security personnel had been deployed for the polls. However the people came out in large numbers and disrupted the elections. It may be recalled that the by-elections in Ananthnag too had been postponed on Monday. This was done following an Intelligence Bureau assessment and also a request by the government.
