Rajnath Singh Dismisses Kejriwal's Claims on Modi and Adityanath as Absurd

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has strongly criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's recent statements regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's political future and the leadership in Uttar Pradesh. During a public meeting in Rajajipuram, Singh labeled Kejriwal's comments as "absurd" and "unfortunate," particularly those suggesting Modi would retire by 2025 and that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath could be replaced within two months if the BJP secures a return to power.

Singh Calls Kejriwals Claims Absurd

Kejriwal, who was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court until June 1 following his arrest on March 21, had reiterated his belief that Modi, adhering to his party's age norms, would step down from politics after turning 75 in 2025. He further speculated that Modi is endorsing Union Home Minister Amit Shah as his successor and hinted at a potential ousting of Adityanath in the near future.

Responding to these assertions, Singh expressed his astonishment and defended the current leadership's effectiveness and popularity. He underscored the nation's desire for Modi to continue as Prime Minister beyond the 2024 elections and into 2029. Singh also criticized Kejriwal's claims of development in Delhi, attributing any progress made to Prime Minister Modi's efforts rather than Kejriwal's administration.

Furthermore, Singh addressed allegations from the opposition about the threat to democracy under BJP rule. He refuted claims of potential dictatorship and constitutional changes, contrasting BJP's tenure with past Congress administrations, notably during Indira Gandhi's prime ministership. According to Singh, the opposition lacks substantial issues and resorts to misleading the public.

This exchange highlights the ongoing political discourse in India, marked by accusations and counter-accusations among leaders. As the country navigates through these debates, the focus remains on governance, leadership succession plans within major parties, and the future direction of India's democracy.
