Rajnath Singh calls Sukma attack a 'cold-blooded murder'

Twenty five CRPF personnel lost their lives in an encounter with 300 naxalites in Chhattisgarh.

After paying tribute to 25 CRPF jawans who lost their lives in Sukma attack, Union Home Minister Rajnath on Tuesday dubbed the attack as an act of desperation by the Naxalites.

"Left wing extremism groups are anti development and they do not want development in the area. We are working to root out the problem of Left wing extremism," said.

Singh further said it was a cowardly act and a 'cold blooded' murder, adding that Centre will review its strategy in dealing with the Left extremists.

The Home Minister said that there would be meeting of affected states on May 8.

Twenty five CRPF personnel lost their lives in an encounter with 300 naxalites in Chhattisgarh. An encounter had broken out with the naxalites at Sukma in Chhattisgarh after the patrolling party of the CRPF was fired upon.

Pranab Mukherjee on Monday strongly condemned the attack on CRPF personnel in Chattisgarh.

He also offered condolences to families of deceased and prayers for the injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the attack on CRPF personnel in Chhattisgarh is cowardly & deplorable. '

'We are monitoring the situation closely. We are proud of the valour of our CRPF personnel. Sacrifice of martyrs will not go in vain. Condolences to their families,'' Modi said.
