Rahul Gandhi's Twitter account hacked, obscene tweets removed
A series of offensive and obscene tweets were sent from Rahul Gandhi's account
New Delhi, Nov 30: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's Twitter account was allegedly hacked on Wednesday night and a series of abusive and obscene tweets were sent from the account.
PTI said that Gandhi's office confirmed that his Twitter account @OfficeofRG was hacked.
Though the obscene tweets were removed, several tweets were re-tweeted. The hacker seemed to be in control of Gandhi's account for a long time even though the tweets were removed.
Rahul Gandhi's office is said to have complained to the cyber cell. The hackers also removed Rahul's profile picture and changed the title of the account from @OfficeOfRG to an abusive one.
"Rahul Gandhi's Twitter handle has been hacked. We will file a complaint with the Cyber Cell of city police," Pranav Jha, media coordinator, Congress, told IANS.
Meanwhile, Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said: "Such lowly tactics will never drown the sane voice of reason."
Hacking of@OfficeofRG proves lack of Digital safety around each one of us. Every digital info can be accessed, altered, morphed & modified.
