Rahul Gandhi attacks PM Modi again, now accuses him of practicing 'politics of revenge'
New Delhi, May 7: Attacking Centre over its decision of shelving the Amethi Mega Food Park project in 2014, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of indulging into politics of revenge.
The Congress MP from Amethi raised the issue in the Lok Sabha and said, "During his electioneering PM Modi promised to the people that his government will not indulge into politics of revenge. But after coming to power he seems to have forgotten his promise of 'politics of change'."

"All I want to say is the Food Park in Amethi will bring a massive change in the lives of farmers, please don't cancel it," he further said.
This was the first ocassion when Rahul Gandhi spoke on this issue in the Parliament.
An aggressive Rahul informed the House that the mega food park project was supposed to bring investment to UP and provide employment to more than 40,000 youths in Amethi and surrounding districts.

The Narendra Modi government had cancelled the permission to Shaktiman Food Park, the first such project in UP which was to be set up by Aditya Birla Nuvo Limited in Jagdishpur, Amethi.
The Rs 200-crore project was inaugurated in October 2013 by the Congress scion, Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla and former Union minister for food processing industries, Charan Das Mahant.
Rahul once again alleged that the Centre is showing no seriousness towards providing compensation to farmers.
"A farmer asked me,we sell 1 kg of potatoes for Rs 2, our children buy pack of chips for Rs 10,which contains only 1 potato. What magic is this?" Gandhi scion added.
Rahul once again made a display of his sense of humour when he asked treasury benches to calm down and listen to him for he was not talking about PM Modi's suits instead he's talking about food park. [Highs and lows from Rahul Gandhi's roaring Lok Sabha speech]
Speaking on the issue of food park Home Minister Rajnath Singh assured Rahul Gandhi that his government is not involved into politics of revenge and that he will look into this matter.
Taking a swipe at Rahul for his 'potato remark' Rajnath Singh said, "He knows little. This magic has not been done by our government. This magic was done by his UPA government."
