Aggressive Rahul Gandhi attacks NDA govt over farmers' issues

Rahul Gandhi, who made the news over his 56-day sabbatical, said the current government is one of those who wear suit and boot. He said the government is paying minimum importance to the farmers but warned that it could prove costly in days to come.

He said the previous UPA government had thought about the farmers but the current government, despite assuring the farmers, have not done much for them in reality.

The 44-year-old leader also accused the NDA government of having little coordination between as different versions could be heard from different people.

The NDA MPs hit back at Rahul Gandhi after he called PM Modi as "Your PM". At that, he reacted jokingly: "He is of course the prime minister of India but isn't he your prime minister also?"

The Congress leader, who is likely to take over as the president of the party from his mother Sonia Gandhi, said the government speaks about defence and fighter planes but not about the 60% of this country which is angry.

It was Rahul Gandhi's first speech from the Opposition benches.
