Radical Sikh leader Amritpal Singh led quite a steamy life online

Amritpal Singh, the radical Sikh leader, who has positioned himself on the lines of terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale has a long list of women on his Instagram handle with whom he regularly chats, reports have said.

A report by India Today TV says that Amritpal had a long list of female followers, with whom he would chat. The report said that not only did he chat and blow kisses on video, but also would blackmail them with obscene videos.

The report says that 12 voice notes have been accessed. In one of them, he is heard saying that he wants to have a casual relationship with women and nothing serious. In another, he says that women tend to get serious too soon. The report also cites another conversation in which the woman tells Amritpal, that she is alright with having a relationship with him, provided her marriage is not affected.

To another woman, Amritpal is said to have written, 'so our extramarital affair is confirmed?'

The Punjab Police on the other hand have launched a massive search operation to nab Amritpal Singh. He has remained elusive for the past six days and has used various modes of transport to escape. The manner in which in the law enforcement agencies in the state have handled the issue evoked a strong response from the Punjab High Court.

The High Court wondered how a strong 80,000 strong force has not managed to nab one man.

Amritpal was on Saturday chased by a convoy of 150 police cars, but managed to escape. Singh according to reports is trying to cross the border and get into Pakistan.

His aides have however been arrested by the police and are being questioned. ON Wednesday, the police questioned his wife and mother. The police suspect that his wife was instrumental in managing the funds being doled into the accounts of Waris Punjab De, the outfit that Amritpal heads.

The issue has become international in nature. The crackdown on Amritpal Singh and his aides have evoked strong responses from pro-Khalistan elements in the UK and US.

India has often accused foreign countries of providing a safe haven to these elements. Proscribed outfits such as the Sikhs for Justice headed by designated terrorist, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun have been running a campaign to revive the Khalistan movement in India from the United States.
