Punjab: BSF seizes 4 kg heroin near Indo-Pak border
An investigation has been launched to find out the person who was supposed to take the consignment on the Indian side.
Amritsar, Jan 30: Four kilograms of heroin, which was being smuggled into India from Pakistan, was seized by the Border Security Force personnel near the Indo-Pak border early on Monday morning, a senior official said.
BSF DIG, R K Kataria said that the heroin was seized at border out post Pulmoran in Amritsar Sector, near Attari-Wagah border.
Giving details of the incident, he said, BSF troops heard some suspicious sound on the other side of the barbed fence, but due to dense fog nothing was visible.
Subsequently, a special search operation was launched during which BSF troops recovered four packets of heroin, one kg each, lying ahead of the border fence between international border and the barbed fence.
Further investigation was under progress to find out the person who was supposed to take the consignment on the Indian side.
