Protests erupt in Srinagar after Mufti's visit
Srinagar, Dec 22: Clashes erupted in Srinagar on Tuesday when some youths hurled stones at security forces and raised pro-freedom slogans after chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed visited the downtown areas of the summer capital.
Security was beefed up in view of the visit of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and hundreds of police and para-military troops were deployed.

Mufti inaugurated a marriage hall in Nowhatta, but as soon as he left dozens of youth came on to the roads and clashed with security forces.
"Miscreants pelted stones on police deployment and raised pro-freedom slogans at Gojwara Chowk and near Gani Stadium in old city today (Tuesday), a senior police officer said.
"However, at both the places the chief minister had left the venue".
