Pune Police Request MCOCA Court to Cancel Nilesh Ghaywal's Passport Amid Firing Investigation

Pune police have approached the MCOCA court to cancel gangster Nilesh Ghaywal's passport as he is believed to have fled abroad during a firing investigation. The case involves serious allegations against Ghaywal and his gang.

The Pune police have requested the special MCOCA court to revoke the passport of gangster Nilesh Ghaywal, who is suspected of fleeing abroad during an investigation into a shooting incident. A Pune police official stated that the court has asked the prosecution to provide the legal basis for this request. The investigation into the shooting involving Ghaywal has been transferred to the Pune Crime Branch.

On September 17, members of Ghaywal's gang allegedly shot at Prakash Dhumal and attacked a student with sharp weapons in Kothrud during a road rage incident. Following complaints from the victims, two FIRs were filed, and sections of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) were applied against Ghaywal and eight gang members.

Legal Actions and Court Proceedings

The case has now been handed over to the Crime Branch for further investigation. Meanwhile, MCOCA charges against Sachin Ghaywal, Nilesh's brother, related to the shooting incident have been dropped. Five gang members were presented in court and have been placed in judicial custody.

Nilesh Ghaywal is wanted for murder and extortion but managed to obtain a passport despite his criminal record, which has caused embarrassment for the home department. The authorities are now seeking to cancel his passport as part of their efforts to apprehend him.
