It has been reported that Priyanka would replace Janardwan Trivedi as the general secretary of the party. All these decisions will be taken after the assembly elections which are expected to be held in Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir.

Priyanka, who has been campaigning for her mother and brother at Rae Bareli and Amethi, now may join the party officially when Congress has been facing the worst time.

Senior Congress leader from UP, Rita Bahuguna Joshi, was quoted as saying, "I personally feel that Priyanka ji should join active politics, but ultimately it's her decision."

Experts believe that Priyanka's official entry to the party would boost Congress and might help the party to regain lost glory in the politics of the country.
