Private Jet Crashes In Flames As 2 Crew Die In Dominican Republic - Caught On Camera

A tragic aviation accident claimed the lives of two crew members on Sunday when a US-registered business jet suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure and erupted into flames during an emergency landing attempt at La Romana International Airport. The incident was caught on camera.

The twin-engine Gulfstream G200, bearing registration N318JF, had initially departed the coastal tourist hub of La Romana for a flight to Austin, Texas. Shortly into the journey, roughly 16 nautical miles southwest of the airport, the flight crew encountered severe mechanical issues and issued an emergency declaration. In a desperate bid to save the aircraft, the pilots turned back toward the airfield.

Dramatic eyewitness footage captured on social media details the harrowing moments that followed. The aircraft touched down at high speed, scraping violently along the runway before veering off-course into an adjacent grassy area, where it instantly exploded into a massive fireball.

The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) confirmed that only the pilot and co-pilot were aboard the aircraft, which had been chartered by former Major League Baseball star Yadier Molina to transport his family. No passengers were on board at the time of the crash.

Emergency protocols were immediately activated at the scene. Investigators from both the IDAC and the Aviation Accident Investigation Commission (CIAA) are currently on-site analyzing the wreckage.
