Hyderabad police, led by DCP Riti Raj, raided Kings and Queens Pub in Kukatpally on Sunday morning, uncovering alleged immoral activities and regulatory violations; nine staff were detained, and a case was filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.

The operation was carried out in the early hours of Sunday when DCP Kukatpally Riti Raj personally conducted a discreet verification exercise before leading a surprise raid on Kings and Queens Pub, popularly known as Club Masti. Police said the action was initiated following credible intelligence inputs about suspicious activities taking place inside the premises.

Undercover Verification Led To Surprise Raid

According to sources, DCP Riti Raj first gathered evidence through an undercover verification exercise before police teams moved in and conducted the raid. Investigators alleged that the pub was facilitating solicitation and prostitution while also violating several regulations governing liquor-serving establishments.

Police found that the management had allegedly failed to put adequate safeguards in place to prevent minors from entering the premises. Authorities further claimed that the pub was operating beyond permitted timings and serving food and liquor in violation of existing rules.

The establishment was also found to be functioning without a valid police No Objection Certificate (NOC), investigators said.

Police Allege Women Were Used To Attract Customers

During the investigation, officers reportedly found indications that women were being used to lure male patrons and increase spending at the pub.

"Prima facie evidence indicates that women were being used to attract male customers and generate inflated bills for wrongful gain," police said.

Investigators also suspect that the management was facilitating immoral activities and allegedly procuring women for customers. These allegations are currently being examined as part of the ongoing probe.

Nine Staff Members Taken Into Custody

Following the raid, police detained nine staff members associated with the establishment. Those taken into custody included four women and five men.

All nine individuals were shifted to KPHB Police Station, where further legal proceedings are being carried out.

Authorities stated that the operation was based on evidence gathered during the verification exercise and subsequent raid.

"The raid was based on evidence gathered during the operation. Further investigation is underway," police said.

Pub Had Faced Previous Cases, Fresh Charges Filed

Police records indicate that the pub had been booked in multiple criminal cases during 2025. Despite previous enforcement action, authorities allege that violations continued at the establishment.

A fresh case has now been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act. Investigators are expected to examine the role of the management and other individuals linked to the alleged activities.

The operation has also drawn attention to the officer leading the action. Riti Raj, a 2018-batch Telangana cadre IPS officer, is an alumna of Delhi Public School, Patna, and graduated from National Law University, Delhi, before clearing the Civil Services Examination. Over the years, she has served in important assignments, including Cyber Crimes and the Madhapur Zone of Cyberabad, before taking charge as DCP Kukatpally.

She is currently also heading the Special Investigation Team probe into the case involving Bandi Bhageerath Sai, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
