Ram Nath Kovind honours freedom fighters on 76th anniversary of Quit India movement
New Delhi, Aug 8: President Ram Nath Kovind felicitated 89 freedom fighters from across the country in an 'At Home' reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the 76th anniversary of Quit India Day.

The function was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister for Home Affairs Rajnath Singhand other dignitaries, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement.
On August 9, 1942, the 'Quit India Movement' was launched under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi which resulted in freedom of the country from British rule five years later on August 15, 1947.
