Pre Poll Survey Chhattisgarh: Easy Win For Congress With 55-59 Seats, Predicts Lok Poll Opinion Poll
As the Chhattisgarh Assembly election 2023 is slated to be held in two phases on November 7 and 17, the Lok Poll Pre-Poll Survey for Chhattisgarh predicted clear majority for Congress while BJP a distant second.
According to the latest Lok Poll survey, out of the total 90 seats, BJP is likely to secure between 30 to 34 seats. On the other side of the political spectrum, the Congress is expected to win an estimated 55 to 59 seats, seeking to strengthen its hold on the state's governance. Others are projected to win only 0 to 2 seats.

The ruling Congress, according to the Lok Poll survey, is poised to gain over 44-46 per cent of the total vote share.
In contrast, the BJP is projected to secure around 38-40 per cent of the vote share.
Others are projected to secure 14-18 per cent of votes.
In 2018, the Congress staged a remarkable resurgence in the state, putting an end to 15 years of BJP rule by securing 67 out of the total 90 seats. (This count later increased due to the party's success in by-elections.) Bhupesh Baghel assumed the role of the state's inaugural Chief Minister from the OBC (Other Backward Classes), a community representing over 40% of the total population in the region.
The Congress's victory half a decade ago was primarily attributed to factors such as anti-incumbency, rural economic distress, and apparent discontent among BJP members with the party's senior leadership.
