PM Modi's Gujarat Visit: Inauguration Of 5 AIIMS And Several Projects Today

A slew of projects in Dwarka and Rajkot districts is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his two-day visit to Gujarat, on Sunday.

According to an official release, the day will commence with prayers being offered at the Beyt Dwarka temple and the Dwarkadhish temple by Modi.

PM to inaugurate 5 AIIMS today

Upon his arrival in Gujarat on Saturday morning, a grand roadshow was held by Modi from Jamnagar airport. During the two-kilometre journey, greetings were extended by Modi to the people from his vehicle amidst chants of 'Modi, Modi' and 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' resonating in the atmosphere. At one point, stepping out of his vehicle, Modi waved at his supporters. For the night, Modi stayed at the Jamnagar circuit house.

The schedule for Day 2 of Modi's visit to Gujarat includes offering prayers at the Beyt Dwarka temple around 7:45 am, followed by a visit to the Sudarshan Setu at approximately 8:25 am, as per the official release. Subsequently, around 9:30 am, a visit to the Dwarkadhish temple is planned by Modi.

Dedicating and laying the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than Rs. 4150 crore in Dwarka is on the agenda around 1 pm, according to the release. Following this, at 3:30 pm, a visit to AIIMS Rajkot is scheduled.

Around 4:30 pm, the inauguration of multiple development projects worth more than Rs. 48,100 crore at the Race Course ground in Rajkot will be carried out by the prime minister.

A list of projects to be inaugurated by PM Modi includes the Okha-Beyt Dwarka Signature Bridge, also known as 'Sudarshan Setu' in Dwarka. This project, costing ₹978 crore, is being inaugurated by Modi and holds immense significance for both the locals and pilgrims visiting the revered Dwarkadhish temple.

The bridge, spanning 2.5 kilometres, is noted as the longest cable-stayed bridge in the country. It features a unique design with a footpath adorned with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna on both sides. Additionally, solar panels installed on the upper portions of the footpath generate one megawatt of electricity, as per an official release.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Modi expressed anticipation for the inauguration of the Sudarshan Setu, describing it as a stunning project that will enhance connectivity and contribute to Gujarat's growth trajectory.

Furthermore, Modi will participate in a roadshow from the old airport to Rajkot, where a public rally will be held. During this event, Gujarat's first All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be inaugurated by Modi. Alongside, four other AIIMS in Punjab's Bathinda, Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli, West Bengal's Kalyani, and Andhra Pradesh's Mangalagiri will be dedicated virtually.

The foundation stone of more than 200 healthcare infrastructure projects worth ₹11,500 crore across 23 states and union territories will be laid by Modi. Additionally, 115 projects under the National Health Mission and Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) will be inaugurated by him. The nation will also witness the dedication of 21 projects of the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), valued at around Rs. 2,280 crore, as per the government release.

In addition to these initiatives, other key projects to be inaugurated by PM Modi include power generation projects in Kutch, the ground-breaking ceremony for the new Mundra Panipat crude-oil pipeline project, a new cardiology hospital in Vadodara, and the doubling of the Rajkot-Surendranagar railway line, among others.
