PM Modi To Visit ISRO, Attend Mega Roadshow In Bengaluru On Saturday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to land at HAL Airport early on Saturday morning at 5.55 am. He will then visit the ISRO facility located in Peenya at 7 am. At around 8 am, he will attend a mega road show in the city. He will depart for Delhi at 8.35 am.

In view of the Prime Minister's visit, elaborate traffic arrangements have been put in place. Bengaluru City Traffic Police have issued an advisory urging the public to steer clear of the roads designated for the Prime Minister's convoy between 4.30 am and 9.30 am.

The following roads will be affected:

  • Old Airport Road
  • Old Madras Road
  • MG Road
  • Cubbon Road
  • Raj Bhavan Road
  • Ballari Road (Mekhri Circle)
  • CV Raman Road
  • Yashwanthapura Flyover
  • Tumkur Road (stretching from Yeshwantpur to Nagasandra)
  • Magadi Road
  • Outer Ring Road (spanning from Goraguntepalya Junction to Sumanahalli)
  • Gubbi Thotadhappa Road
  • Jalahalli crossroad

A temporary prohibition has been enforced on the movement of Heavy Goods Vehicles from 4 am to 10 am during the day.

The public is requested to cooperate with the traffic police and avoid unnecessary travel during the restricted hours.

PM Modi on Wednesday congratulated ISRO Chairman S Somanath on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission and said he would soon visit them in Bengaluru to greet the entire team in person. He had a phone conversation with Somanath from Johannesburg, where he is attending the BRICS summit.

The Chandrayaan-3 lander, Vikram, touched down on the uncharted lunar South Pole on Wednesday evening, making India the first country to do so.

Following a 40-day voyage through space, the Chandrayaan-3 lander named 'Vikram' successfully made contact with the unexplored lunar South Pole on Wednesday evening. This accomplishment established India as the inaugural country to achieve such a feat.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi virtually joined the live broadcast of the Chandrayaan-3 landing while in South Africa. He celebrated the mission's historic achievement of softly landing on the lunar surface, asserting that "India has now set foot on the moon."
