PM Modi Responds to Terror Attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi District
On Sunday, a tragic terror attack targeted a bus carrying pilgrims in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the loss of nine lives. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upon learning about the incident, engaged in a detailed review of the situation. He instructed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to keep a close watch on developments and extend all necessary support to the bereaved families.

Lt. Gov. Manoj Sinha, conveying the Prime Minister's directives, emphasized the ongoing efforts to provide assistance to those affected. Through a message shared on X, he highlighted PM Modi's instructions for constant monitoring and support. In response to the attack, security forces have initiated a comprehensive operation aimed at apprehending the perpetrators, with Sinha affirming that those responsible will face justice promptly.
"I strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack on a bus in Reasi. My condolences to the family members of the martyred civilians," Sinha expressed, acknowledging the swift action taken by security forces and the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in launching a joint operation to track down the terrorists involved.
The assault took place on Sunday evening as terrorists attacked a bus filled with pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh. The vehicle was en route from Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine at Katra near Teryath village in the Poni area when it came under fire and subsequently plunged into a gorge. The attack occurred around 6:15 pm, causing not only fatalities but also injuring 33 individuals.
Prime Minister Modi has also mandated that those injured in this heinous act receive the highest standard of medical care and assistance. This directive underscores the government's commitment to ensuring the welfare of victims and their families during this difficult time.
The incident has sparked a strong response from authorities, with efforts underway to provide relief to those impacted and to secure justice for the victims. The collaborative operation by security forces signifies a determined pursuit to bring an end to such acts of violence and maintain peace and security in the region.
