The plan includes healthcare, education, connectivity, power, urban services, environment, tourism and agriculture, debuting new institutions and essential infrastructure across the state during Sikkim's Golden Jubilee celebrations.

The Prime Minister will be attending Sikkim’s 50th Year of Statehood closing ceremony and unveil development projects worth over ₹4,000 crore across multiple sectors in the state.

Sikkim development projects for statehood celebrations and key sectors

Later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Paljor Stadium to attend the closing ceremony of Sikkim’s Golden Jubilee statehood celebrations. During the event, Modi will inaugurate, launch, and lay foundation stones for a wide range of projects covering infrastructure, connectivity, health, education, energy, urban development, environment, tourism, and agriculture, and will address people gathered there.

The large investment package spreads across several districts and themes, reflecting an attempt to balance growth. Major sectors and indicative projects are outlined below for clarity on the planned Sikkim development projects.

Education receives a substantial share of the Sikkim development projects. Modi will inaugurate Sikkim University’s permanent campus at Yangang, the administrative block of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose University of Excellence at Chakung, Helen Lepcha Medical College at Socheygang, and Dentam Professional College at Dentam. Model residential schools at Hee Gyathang, a Model Degree College at Mangshila, and a monastic hostel-cum-classroom at Boomtar Gumpa will also be opened, alongside IT-enabled infrastructure in 160 schools.

Sikkim development projects in healthcare and traditional medicine

Healthcare will see new traditional and integrative facilities under the Sikkim development projects. Modi will lay the foundation stone for a 100-bedded Ayurveda Hospital at Yangang in Namchi district. A 30-bedded Integrated Sowa Rigpa Hospital at NIT Deorali will be inaugurated, intended to widen access to traditional systems of medicine alongside modern healthcare services.

Sikkim development projects for connectivity and power

To strengthen road links between districts, the Prime Minister will launch key connectivity works as part of Sikkim development projects. Modi will lay the foundation stone for two hinged double-lane steel arch bridges over the River Teesta at Sirwani and Lower Samdong, linking Namchi and Gangtok districts, and will inaugurate the widened and reinforced Birdhang–Namchi road via Kitchudumra to improve travel time and goods movement.

Electricity supply in and around Gangtok will be targeted through Sikkim development projects in the power sector. Modi will inaugurate the improvement, upgradation, and revamping of the Transmission and Distribution network in Gangtok, which is expected to support more reliable power delivery for homes, services, and industry in the region.

Sikkim development projects in urban, environment, tourism and agriculture

Urban services and government infrastructure in Gangtok and nearby areas will expand under the Sikkim development projects. Modi will open the Jan Seva Sachivalaya, described as a Mini Secretariat, at Lumsey, and the Civil Service Officers Institute in Gangtok. Housing measures include the Sikkim Urban Garib Awas Yojana at Lingding, accommodation for police personnel, Grade 'C’ quarters at SAP Pangthang, and the foundation stone for Sadhbhav Mandap at MG Marg.

Environmental protection and sanitation are another focus within the Sikkim development projects. Modi will lay the foundation stone for rehabilitation of the sewerage system in Singtam town under river pollution abatement efforts. In Gangtok’s Zone III, Modi will inaugurate a pollution abatement scheme for River Rani Chu via the Roro Chu river, aimed at better urban sanitation and healthier local ecosystems.

Tourism and pilgrimage facilities will be strengthened through several Sikkim development projects. Modi will inaugurate the redevelopment of Gangtok’s Ridge Precinct, eco-tourism and pilgrimage infrastructure at Dodak in Soreng, and facilities supporting the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra at 18th Mile and Hangu Lake, along with a Yatri Niwas at Krishna Pranami Mangaldham, Namphing, and will lay the foundation stone for an Eco-Pilgrimage Complex at Silnon in Gyalshing district.

In agriculture and sports, the Sikkim development projects include the inauguration of the Sikkim IFFCO Processing Plant, expected to aid agro-processing, value chains, and farmer incomes. Modi will also open indoor cricket facilities at Mining, Rangpo in Pakyong district, providing covered practice spaces intended to support youth participation in organised sport.
