Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Lal-Tipara Gaushala, featuring a bio-CNG plant in Gwalior, through a virtual event. The gaushala, a cow shelter, is equipped to produce three tonnes of natural gas daily using 100 tonnes of cow dung.

The collaboration with the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has resulted in India's first modern and self-reliant gaushala. An official stated that the plant will also yield 20 tonnes of high-quality organic manure. IOC will play a role in the plant's operation and maintenance. Developed at a cost of Rs 32 crore from IOC's corporate social responsibility fund, an additional hectare of land is reserved for future expansion.

Bio-CNG Plant and Organic Manure Production

The production of bio-CNG and organic manure is expected to generate approximately Rs 7 crore in income for the Gwalior Municipal Corporation. Officials highlighted that this initiative will benefit farmers from nearby districts by providing them with affordable bio-manure, encouraging organic farming practices. The gaushala currently cares for 10,000 cows with support from the local municipal corporation.

Chief Minister Yadav expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his Waste to Wealth vision and thanked seers and devotees for their dedication to cow care. The project aligns with efforts to promote sustainable practices and enhance local agricultural productivity through organic farming.

Madhya Pradesh's Biogas Plant Initiatives

A recent report from the Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation places Madhya Pradesh third in establishing biogas plants in villages. The state boasts 104 biogas plants, with Betul district having the highest number at 24, followed by Balaghat with 13 and Singrauli with 12. These efforts reflect the state's commitment to renewable energy and sustainable development.

The Lal-Tipara Gaushala project represents a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions and community development. By converting waste into valuable resources, it supports both environmental goals and economic growth within the region.
