PM Modi In Hiroshima For G7 Summit, Interacts With Indian diaspora

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Hiroshima, where he was warmly welcomed by a delegation from Japan, to participate in the G7 summit taking place from Friday, May 19 to Sunday, May 21.

During the summit, crucial topics such as food security, nuclear disarmament, and climate change are expected to be discussed and brought to the table.

The G7 summit will encompass three main sessions, each addressing distinct areas of importance. The first session will center around topics such as food security, health, development, and gender equality. The second session will be dedicated to discussions on climate change, energy, and environmental concerns. Lastly, the third session will focus on fostering a peaceful, stable, and prosperous world.

The overall agenda of the G7 summit encompasses a wide range of critical issues. These include nuclear disarmament, bolstering economic resilience and security, addressing regional challenges, combating climate change, ensuring energy security, and promoting food and health initiatives.

Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral meetings with several leaders on the sidelines of the G7 summit.

The Group of Seven (G7) is comprised of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. This year, the heads of government from all member countries, including US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, will be in attendance at the meeting.

In addition to the G7 member countries, the G7 summit has extended invitations to several other nations and organizations. India, as the current holder of the G20 presidency, has been invited. The European Union, Australia, Brazil, Comoros (African Union chair), the Cook Islands (Pacific Islands Forum chair), Indonesia (ASEAN chair), South Korea, and Vietnam have also received invitations to this annual conference.

Furthermore, prominent international organizations such as the United Nations (UN), International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, World Health Organization (WHO), and World Trade Organization (WTO) will participate in the summit as well.
