PM Modi, CM Yogi Hold Massive Roadshow In Varanasi

A day ahead of his nomination for the Lok Sabha election 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did a massive roadshow in his constituency Varanasi on Monday. PM first paid tribute to the statue of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and then did a roadshow to woo the voters.

BJP workers and supporters welcomed the Prime Minister with a cultural gesture and with tunes of shehnai tunes, conch shells (shankhnaad), and rhythmic drum beats (damru). Some people were also spotted chanting vedic mantras to welcome PM Modi.

PM Modi, who is also a candidate from the Varanasi seat, was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. As expected, millions of footfall was recorded at PM's roadshow and the district administration enforced stringent security measures for smooth event conduct and safety.

The roadshow started from the intersection at the Banaras Hindu University gate and concluded at culminate at Gate Number 4 of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham.

The prime minister is seeking a third consecutive term from the seat that will go to polls on June 1 in the seventh and last phase of the Lok Sabha election.

A large number of women in saffron attire walked ahead of the vehicle carrying Modi. The group represented 'matrashakti'.

The sources in the party said Modi would be staying the night at the BLW guesthouse.

He will go to the guesthouse from the Kashi Vishwanath Dham and his convoy is expected to pass through Maidagin Chauraha, Kabirchaura, Lahurabir, Teliabagh Tiraha, Chowkaghat Chauraha, Lakdi Mandi, Cantt Overbridge, Lahartara Chauraha, Manduwadih Chauraha and Kakarmatta Overbridge areas.

Ahead of the roadshow, BJP office bearers informed that people from different communities, including Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Maheshwari, Marwari, Tamil and Punjabi, will be welcoming Modi at 100 points in 11 zones during the roadshow.

Cutouts of famous people of Kashi have been installed along the route of the roadshow. Prime Minister Modi will also go to seek blessings from Baba Vishwanath, the BJP sources said.
