Pakistan army violates ceasefire along LoC

Jammu, Jun 7: The Pakistani army violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in the frontier district of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir late this evening.

Pakistani army fired several rounds towards the Indian army position in Balakote sector along LoC in the district, a police officer said.

He said that the firing from across the border triggered explosions of several landmines on the border. More than a dozen landmines have exploded, he said, adding that there was no report of any casualty or injury on the Indian side.

Earlier on June 1, 2015, a BSF trooper was seriously wounded on Monday in firing by Pakistan Rangers on the Line of Control in Jammu. The incident took place in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district and the victim is named as AK Rabha, who was rushed to the hospital. No casualties were reported.
