Pakistan abducts two boats with Indian fishermen off Gujarat coast

New Delhi, Jan 4: Days after a Pakistani boat allegedly carrying explosives was intercepted by Indian Coast Guard off the Gujarat coast, Pakistan Marine Security Agency has captured two boats carrying 12 Indian fishermen in Arabian Sea.

According to a report in Zee news, the move to capture two Indian boats is seen as a move by the Pakistani authorities, taken in retaliation to the tracking and intercepting of a fishing boat from Pakistan off the Gujarat coast.

Reports say boats named - Jhelelal and Jalaram were abducted from international marine boundary line on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, search operation is underway for the wreckage of the mysterious boat.

Pakistan has rejected reports that a Pakistani fishing boat, said to be carrying explosives, was intercepted by the Indian Coast Guard off the coast of Gujarat and the vessel exploded before sinking along with four occupants.
