Outstation volunteers to campaign for AAP ahead of Delhi polls
New Delhi, Dec 17: Over 5,000 volunteers of AAP from outside Delhi will be arriving in the national capital in the coming days to campaign for the party here ahead of Assembly elections.
AAP has also started a "buzz" campaign for volunteers who can only spare a couple of weeks and plans to deploy them at 80 major spots across the national capital. "Some 5,000-odd outstation volunteers have registered for the campaigning ahead of elections.
At present, 300 volunteers have come to the national capital while the maximum lot will come in the last three weeks before the elections," said AAP spokesperson Atishi Marlena.

Volunteers interested to join AAP's campaign can register on the website, www.kejriwalfirse.com, or can also give missed calls on a designated number. She added that the accommodation for these volunteers would be taken care of by the party and its candidates, depending on the work alloted to the candidate.
Like last time, Haryana tops the list of AAP's outstation volunteers followed by Uttar Pradesh. Also, after AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal contested the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi, a decent number of volunteers are headed to Delhi from the holy city.
"For those volunteers who cannot spare more than two weeks, we will deploy them at 80 crucial spots in the city, like Sarojini Market, Saket Mall, etc. These volunteers will be given 1,000 caps every day as we have been observing that around 5,000-7,000 caps are distributed daily.
"Others who can spend more time will be asked to join the campaigning in constituencies. We have also tried to streamline the volunteers coming in. For example, those from Haryana are being put for campaigning in Narela and areas adjoining the Haryana border.
Similarly, places with Punjabi- majority populations will have Punjabi-speaking volunteers," she said.
