Operations commence as 2 militants spotted in Punjab

Punjab, Jan 8: Security forces are engaged in a massive search operation at Pandher village, Punjab to flush out two militants who are suspected to be holed up.

The security officials assisted by the SWAT team are preparing for an offensive against the two militants who are suspected to be part of the Jaish-e-Mohammad.

Information began trickling in suggesting that two militants may be holed up in the Pandher village which is 20 kilometres away from the Indo-Pak border.

Information about the two suspected militants was passed on by the villagers who said that they had spotted these persons in military fatigues.

Indian security forces are preparing for a major offensive after cornering the two militants. While there is considerable amount of information about the presence of these two militants, security personnel want to ensure that they do not slip into a civilian area.

The security personnel are not taking any chances. There is however no clarity whether these two militants entered India along with the 6 others who carried out the attack on the Pathankot air force station. However "we are able to confirm that they are part of the same outfit", sources also said.
