During a meeting, Commissioner Secretary Rashmi Singh presented a detailed overview of the department’s assets. This includes properties located outside Jammu and Kashmir in cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Amritsar, and Mumbai. An official spokesperson highlighted that the chief minister assessed the status of notable properties in Delhi, such as those in Chanakyapuri, 5-Prithvi Raj Road, and Rajaji Marg.

Focus on Asset Utilisation and Upgradation

Abdullah stressed the importance of fully utilising these assets and upgrading facilities to enhance their utility. He directed focused efforts on properties in Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Srinagar, Udhampur, and Jammu. Ensuring these are used efficiently and maintained to high standards was a key point of discussion during the meeting.

The discussions also covered revenue realisation, rate revision, and facelifting of valuable properties. Particular attention was given to 5-Prithvi Raj Road in New Delhi. The chief minister reiterated the necessity for creating new assets at strategic locations within and outside J&K to meet future needs and generate additional revenue.

Renovation and Safety Measures

Immediate renovation and upgradation of the Banquet Hall in Srinagar were also directed by Abdullah. This includes improvements to the audio system, furniture, bathrooms, and other amenities. He highlighted the importance of fire safety measures and fire audits in properties, especially heritage sites where invaluable items are stored.

The meeting addressed augmenting existing assets by strengthening manpower through filling various vacant posts. Revisiting recruitment rules to improve efficiency and operational capabilities within the department was also discussed. Abdullah reiterated the importance of maximising the potential of H&P assets while ensuring their upkeep.

Modernisation efforts reflect the government's commitment to efficiency and resourcefulness. By focusing on these areas, Abdullah aims to protect these assets against potential risks while enhancing their value for future needs.
