Odisha Government Launches Toll-Free Helpline for Subhadra Yojana
The Odisha government has introduced a toll-free number to assist beneficiaries of the Subhadra Yojana, a scheme aimed at supporting women aged 21 to 60. This initiative ensures that Anganwadi workers, helpers, ASHA workers, and community resource persons can now apply for the scheme. Under this programme, each beneficiary will receive Rs 10,000 annually for five years.

Eligibility Criteria for Subhadra Yojana
To qualify for the Subhadra Yojana, applicants must be covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) or the State Food Security Scheme (SFSS). Women from families without an NFSA or SFSS Card can still apply if their family income does not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh per annum. The Women and Child Development (W&CD) department released the toll-free number 14678 ahead of the scheme's launch on September 17.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi previously announced that over one crore eligible women in the 21-60 age group, falling under the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, would benefit from this scheme. These women will receive Rs 10,000 annually for five years starting from 2024-25 until 2028-29. The state has allocated Rs 55,825 crore for this purpose.
Scheme Implementation Details
Beneficiaries will receive Rs 10,000 in two instalments each year. The first instalment will be disbursed on Raksha Bandhan, and the second on International Women’s Day, March 8. This amount will be directly credited to their bank accounts. The toll-free number is available from 6 am to 10 pm for detailed information about the scheme.
An official statement highlighted that people could call the toll-free number to get comprehensive details about Subhadra Yojana. This move aims to ensure that all eligible women are well-informed and can easily access the benefits provided by the scheme.
The Odisha government’s initiative reflects its commitment to improving the welfare of women in the state. By providing financial assistance through Subhadra Yojana, it aims to support women’s economic stability and empowerment over a sustained period.
The introduction of this scheme marks a significant step towards addressing financial challenges faced by women in Odisha. With clear guidelines and easy access to information via the toll-free number, eligible women can now look forward to receiving consistent financial support.
This structured approach ensures that eligible beneficiaries are well-supported and informed about their entitlements under Subhadra Yojana. The state government's proactive measures aim to enhance women's welfare comprehensively.
The concluding paragraph should wrap up naturally adhering to facts:
Odisha's Subhadra Yojana is set to provide substantial financial aid to eligible women over five years. This initiative underscores the state's dedication to enhancing women's welfare through structured financial support and accessible information channels.
