Odisha Governor and Chief Minister Celebrate Indian Teams' Victory in Kho Kho World Cup

The Indian men's and women's teams have triumphed in the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup, held at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi. The men's team secured their victory by defeating Nepal 54-36 in the final match. This win followed the women's team's success, who also overcame Nepal to claim their championship title.

Odisha Governor Kambhampati Hari Babu and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended their congratulations to both teams for their achievements. The Odisha government has pledged financial support for the Indian national Kho Kho teams from January 2025 to December 2027, with an annual commitment of Rs 5 crore over three years.

Historic Achievements in Kho Kho

Governor Hari Babu expressed his admiration on X, stating, "Honble Governor Shri @DrHariBabuK congratulated both Indian womens & mens Kho Kho teams for making history by winning the first-ever #khokhoworldcup2025. His words underscored the dedication and teamwork that led to their success.

Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj commented on the significance of this victory for India's youth. He stated that India's historic win on a global stage serves as a source of pride and inspiration. Suraj noted that India has made history by defeating Nepal in both men's and women's categories, achieving a double victory in this inaugural event.
