Markandey Katju rakes another controversy, says Mahatma Gandhi was a British agent
New Delhi, March 10: Former chairman of the Press Council of India Markandey Katju who is known for his sensationalizing comment once again raked up controversy by his comment.
Katju has described Mahatma Gandhi as a British agent in his latest blog post, says IBN live report.
According to report, Katju in his blog, Gandhi---A British Agent, said that Gandhi did great harm to India by injecting religion into politics.
"By constantly injecting religion into politics continuously for several decades, Gandhi furthered the British policy of divide and rule," Katju was quoted as saying in report.
Earlier, Katju raked controversy by saying that Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif should be made President of India.
His blog titled " Katrina Kaif for President of India" writes, "Croatia, which has an ailing economy, has elected a beautiful woman, Ms. Grabar-Kitarovic, as its President. I am always in favour of electing beautiful women, like film actresses, on all posts".
In a sarcastic comment on politicians who blabbers a lot during election time but does nothing after winning the polls, the blog further said, "This is because politicians will promise the moon, but not do anything for the public welfare. So since you must have someone, why not vote for a beautiful face ? At least you will get some momentary happiness looking at her face in the media. Otherwise you will get nothing at all".
