Now, DMK Leader A Raja Compares 'Sanatana Dharma' To HIV, Video Goes Viral

Amid the row around Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin's remark comparing 'Sanatana Dharma' to Dengue, Malaria and Corona, another senior leader from the party has added fuel to the controversy.

DMK leader A Raja has reportedly drawn a comparison between the 'Sanatana Dharma' with HIV and Leprosy while claiming that Udhayanidhi's comment was "soft" on the issue, according to a report in India Today.

"Sanatana and Vishwakarma Yojana are not different, they are the same. Udhayanidhi Stalin was soft in comparing and claiming that it should be eradicated like malaria and dengue," the website quoted him as saying at an event.

"But these diseases don't have a social stigma. To be honest, leprosy was seen as disgusting and so was HIV."

"So, we need to see this as a disease ridden with social plights like HIV and leprosy," the DMK MP stated.

He added, "Bring anybody, I'm ready to debate on Sanatana dharma, "A Raja said, adding, "I don't mind even if it is 10 lakh or 1 crore. Let them carry any sort of weapons, I'll come and debate with Periyar and Ambedkar books in Delhi.

His controversial comments have been condemned by the BJP. The saffron party's IT department head Amit Malviya tweeted, "After Udhaynidhi Stalin, it is now DMK's A Raja, who denigrates Sanatan Dharma... This is nothing but unadulterated hate speech, targeting 80% of Bharat's population, who follow Sanatan Dharma.

This is the true character of Congress led I.N.D.I Alliance, who think demeaning Hindus is the only way to win elections. Was this decided in the Mumbai meet?"

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan attacked the INDIA alliance which the DMK is part of. He said, "Changing name does not conceal one's intent and character. Outrageous and vitriolic comments about #SanatanDharma, this time by DMK Minister A. Raja, reflects the mental bankruptcy and deep-rooted Hinduphobia that engulfs the I.N.D.I.A. bloc.

The country is watching how Congress and their friends are consciously maligning the soul, spirit and roots of Bharat. Let these hate-mongers be reminded that 'सनातन शाश्वत है, सनातन सत्य है'!"

What Did Udhayanidhi Say?
Days ago, Udhayanidhi, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, compared 'Sanatana Dharma' with Dengue and Malaria.

Addressing a gathering on Saturday, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, said, "There are some things which we have to eradicate and we can't merely oppose. Mosquitoes, dengue fever, malaria, corona, all these are things which we cannot oppose, we have to eradicate them. Sanatanam is also like this."

The minister was speaking at an event organised by the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Artists Association on the theme of 'eradication of Sanatana'.

"I thank the organisers of this conference for giving me the opportunity to deliver a special address. You have kept the name of the conference as 'Sanatana Abolition Conference' rather than 'Anti-Sanatana Conference', I appreciate that," news agency ANI quoted Udhayanidhi as saying. "A few things cannot be opposed, that should be abolished only. We can't oppose dengue, mosquitoes, malaria, or corona. We have to eradicate this, that's how we have to eradicate Sanatana. Rather opposing Sanatana it should be eradicated," Udhayanidhi was quoted as saying.
