Note Ban: J&K’s apple business, Shimla’s tourism industry witness slump

Shimla, Nov 29: It is the small-time traders and businessmen, who have been facing the most "visible effect" of demonetisation.
The famed apple business of Jammu and Kashmir and popular tourist industry of Shimla are bearing the brunt of the recent scrapping of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes by the BJP-led NDA government.

"We're facing difficulty in managing our business, everybody gives us Rs 2,000 notes and we don't even have money to return change," an apple seller told ANI.

Similarly, those who are part of the tourist industry in Shimla are unhappy due to severe cash crunch across the country, because of which visitors have cancelled their annual holiday plans.

However, those who use e banking and mobile banking are not complaining at all.
