Nayab Saini Criticises AAP for Focusing on Allegations Instead of Action

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, accusing them of inaction and blame-shifting. Saini remarked that the AAP's approach involves making allegations without addressing their own responsibilities. This statement followed Delhi Chief Minister Atishi's claim that the BJP's politics contributed to rising pollution levels in the capital.

Saini Critiques AAPs Allegation-Focused Approach

Atishi had previously exonerated Punjab, governed by AAP, from pollution issues, instead pointing fingers at Haryana for stubble burning and industrial pollution. She claimed untreated wastewater from Haryana was causing froth in the Yamuna River. Saini countered these allegations by highlighting the funds provided by the central government to clean the river, questioning AAP's utilisation of these resources.

Pollution Blame Game

Saini accused Atishi of following Arvind Kejriwal's footsteps by blaming others for Delhi's pollution woes. He mentioned that despite receiving Rs 6,000 crore for Yamuna cleaning, AAP failed to address the issue effectively. "There are 28 dirty nullahs in Delhi," Saini stated, urging Atishi to focus on local problems rather than shifting blame.

Atishi had alleged that Haryana discharges 165 million gallons per day (MGD) of untreated wastewater into the Yamuna through various drains. She also mentioned Uttar Pradesh's contribution of 65 MGD of polluted water. Saini dismissed these claims, asserting that his government has taken significant steps to manage stubble burning and improve air quality.

Stubble Management Efforts

Saini highlighted Haryana's efforts in stubble management, which received praise from the court. He urged farmers not to burn stubble due to its adverse effects on soil health. The Haryana government offers Rs 1,000 per acre as an incentive for stubble management and provides subsidies on necessary equipment.

The Chief Minister also touched upon BJP's recent electoral victory in Haryana, attributing it to public approval of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies. He expressed confidence in continuing development efforts under Modi's leadership, aiming to meet public expectations with renewed vigour.

Political Landscape and Future Prospects

Saini predicted AAP's downfall in upcoming Delhi Assembly polls, stating that people have seen through their tactics of using falsehoods for votes. He compared AAP's strategy to Congress's past reliance on deceitful practices. "The public has understood and will teach them a lesson," he asserted.

In a conversation with reporters, Saini emphasised BJP's commitment to combating corruption and favouritism, which he claimed flourished under Congress rule. His remarks came after Krishan Kumar Bedi assumed office as Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment in Saini's presence at the Civil Secretariat.

Saini reiterated his appeal to farmers against stubble burning while encouraging them to intervene if they witness others engaging in it. He stressed that such practices harm soil health and contribute to pollution, urging collective responsibility among farmers for sustainable agriculture.
