Noida Police Apprehend Six Suspects in Encounters, Including Noted Delhi Robber

In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, the Noida Police successfully apprehended six suspects within a span of 48 hours following a series of confrontations. These encounters, marked by gunfire, resulted in injuries to five of the individuals involved. Among those detained is a notorious Delhi-based robber, linked to over two dozen criminal cases across the National Capital Region.

The initial encounter occurred on the night between Wednesday and Thursday. During a routine patrol at the Sector-96 junction, under the jurisdiction of the Sector-39 police station, officers signaled a motorcycle carrying three individuals to halt for an inspection. Ignoring the directive, the suspects attempted to escape towards the Hajipur underpass, leading to a pursuit. Near Sikka Mall on the service road, the suspects opened fire on the police, who returned fire, injuring two of the suspects, Arun and Gaurav, in their legs. The third suspect was captured later in a combing operation. From this group, police recovered Rs 1 lakh in cash, a motorcycle without a number plate, and two illegal firearms with ammunition.

The second encounter unfolded late Thursday night near Gol Chakkar Chowki on the road to Sector-15A. Phase-1 police station personnel encountered Rishabh Dayal, who fired upon them. In the exchange, Dayal was injured in the leg and subsequently apprehended. Known for his extensive criminal background including robbery and illegal arms possession in Noida and Ghaziabad, Dayal was found in possession of a .315 bore country-made pistol with one live cartridge, three mobile phones, and his scooter was impounded.

The final confrontation took place near Roza Yakubpur in the Bisrakh police station area during the early hours of Friday. Two suspects on a motorcycle attempted to evade police but were apprehended after their vehicle slipped due to poor road conditions. Identified as Deepak alias Bunty and Ravi Kumar, both were injured in their legs during an exchange of gunfire with the police. Authorities seized two .315 bore country-made pistols with ammunition and Rs 18,850 in cash from them, along with impounding their motorcycle.

Legal Proceedings Initiated

All injured suspects were transported to hospitals for medical treatment. Subsequent legal actions have been initiated against them as part of ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities in the region. This series of encounters underscores the Noida Police's commitment to maintaining law and order through proactive measures against individuals involved in unlawful activities.
