No sitting BJP councillor to get ticket, says Manoj Tiwari
New Delhi, March 14: No sitting BJP councillor will be given a ticket for the upcoming Delhi civic bodies elections, the party's Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari said here on Tuesday. Tiwari said that the decision was taken after due consideration, and ruled out the possibility of any disaffection among the sitting councillors over the move.

"BJP members do not do politics for posts. We consider the party as our mother. There is no question of any disenchantment or rebellion due to this move," Tiwari told reporters here. "The decision has been taken after wide consultations and due consideration," he added.
Elections to the three municipal bodies in the national capital are due next month. In all, there are 272 seats among the three corporations -- the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation. The Bharatiya Janata Party has been in power in the municipal bodies for the last 10 years.
