Kajol Asserts No Clash Between The Trial Season 2 and Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 3

Kajol has confirmed that her upcoming series The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha season 2 will not clash with Akshay Kumar's Jolly LLB 3, both releasing on September 19. She expressed confidence in both projects succeeding.

Bollywood actress Kajol has clarified that her upcoming series, "The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha" season 2, does not conflict with Akshay Kumar's "Jolly LLB 3." Both projects are courtroom dramas but are distinct in their narratives. At the trailer launch event in Mumbai, Kajol expressed confidence in both projects' success, stating that neither she nor Akshay Kumar sees it as a competition.

Kajol's series will be available for streaming on JioHotstar starting September 19. Meanwhile, "Jolly LLB 3," featuring Akshay Kumar, is set for a theatrical release on the same day. Directed by Umesh Bist and produced by Banijay Asia, the series also includes performances by Jisshu Sengupta, Sonali Kulkarni, Sheeba Chadha, Alyy Khan, Kubbra Sait, Gaurav Pandey, and Karanvir Sharma.

Character Connection and Inspiration

In "The Trial," Kajol portrays Noyonika Sengupta. She finds this character relatable and easy to connect with. "Noyonika character was a very easy character to connect with. I think all women have faced things… they all understand the conscious decision we make as women especially when we are dealing with families, kids, relatives, work and all of this. I have some wonderful women around me as well…I take inspiration from them and I hope I have done justice," she shared.

The first season of the series premiered in 2023 under the direction of Suparn Verma. It introduced viewers to Noyonika Sengupta's journey from a housewife to a lawyer after her husband's imprisonment. The new season continues her story as she navigates the challenging legal world facing new obstacles and betrayals.

Influence of Societal Perceptions

Kajol has recently portrayed strong maternal roles in films like "Maa" and "Salaam Venky." She acknowledges that societal perceptions influence the scripts offered to her. "When you are a woman especially in our society you are married and have kids, there is a certain perception society has is very influential in the kind of scripts that you are even offered," she explained.

Kajol emphasised her pride in being a mother and how it shapes public perception. "I can never deny that I am a mother. I love the fact that I am a mom. I love my kids and I said categorically time and again that they are the best thing I have done in my life. So I think that is yes a huge part of how people see," she stated.

Adaptation and Recent Work

"The Trial" is adapted from the American show "The Good Wife," produced by CBS Studios alongside Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions. Paramount Global Content Distribution licensed the format rights for this adaptation.

Kajol's recent film venture into the horror genre was marked by "Maa," released on June 27. Directed by Vishal Furia, known for works like "Lapachhapi," "Criminal Justice," and "Chhori," this film represents Kajol's debut in horror cinema.
