Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister And BJP's Nagpur Candidate, Faints While Addressing Election Rally

According to the reports, Union Minister and BJP's Nagpur Candidate Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday fainted while addressing an election rally in Maharashtra's Yavatmal. Nitin Gadkari is one of the heavyweight leaders of Indian politics and a star campaigner for the BJP. The reports said he was campaigning for alliance partner Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde fraction's candidate Rajashree Patil who is contesting from Yavatmal-Washim seat.

Soon after the incident, medical attention was provided to Nitin Gadkari.

A video of the incident is doing round the internet that shows Nitin Gadkari collapsing while delivering the speech at the podium and swiftly, his other BJP leaders present on the stage, holding him and taking him down.

The reports said Nitin Gadkari, who is popular as Highwayman, fainted due to excessive heat and humid weather.

The minister, however, recovered after a few minutes and completed his speech. "Felt uneasy due to heat at a rally at Pusad, Maharashtra. But now I am completely alright and on my way to Warud to take part in the next rally," the 66-year-old leader said in a post on X.

This was the third incident when Nitin Gadkari fainted. Earlier, on April 26, 2019, he fainted when he was campaigning for Shiv Sena candidate from Shirdi Lok Sabha seat Sadashiv Lokhande. While first such incident was reported on December 7, 2018, during a convocation ceremony at Rahuri Agricultural University in Maharashtra. At that time, reports suggested low sugar level as the reason for his ill health.
