NHRC Issues Notice to Gurugram Police Chief and Discom Regarding Lineman's Electrocution Incident

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken action regarding an incident in Gurugram, Haryana. A lineman was electrocuted while working on a transformer in Sikanderpur Badha. The NHRC has issued notices to the Gurugram police commissioner and a power distribution company following reports that electricity was restored while the lineman was still working.

According to a media report dated January 22, the lineman, associated with Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), died instantly due to electrocution on January 21. The NHRC has expressed concern over this incident, highlighting potential human rights violations if the reports are accurate.
