New Parliament Building Likely To Be Inaugurated By PM Modi This month

India's new Parliament building is likely to be inaugurated later this month by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The new building will be inaugurated by the end of May to mark nine years of the Narendra Modi government. PM Modi had taken oath on May 26 2014.

The four-storey building is being built at an estimated cost of RRS 970 crore. It can house 1,224 MPs. Furthermore it has a massive Constitution hall which will showcase India's democratic heritage.

The building also has dining areas and ample parking space.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has designed a new uniform which will be work by the staff of both Houses.

The new building also has three new doors-Gyan Dwar, Shakti Dwar, and Karma Dwar. It also has a separate entry for MPS, VIPs and visitors.

In December 2020, PM Modi had laid the foundation stone for the new Parliament building.

Further the BJP has planned a month-long special contact campaign across the country covering all Lok Sabha constituencies to mark nine years of the Narendra Modi-led government. The PM would launch the campaign with a huge rally on May 30, a BJP leader said. He also added that a second rally of the PM will be held on May 31. In all 51 rallies of senior BJP leaders will be held.

The BJP has also planned public meetings in 396 Lok Sabha seats. The BJP's chief ministers, leaders of the opposition in states, MPs and MLAs will be invited for these rallies and public meetings.
