NEET PG 2024 Result Date And Normalisation Process: Everything You Need To Know
The NEET PG 2024 results are anticipated to be announced shortly. This year, the National Board of Education (NBE) will utilise a normalisation process to release the results, as the exam was conducted in two shifts. Candidates' raw marks will be converted into normalised scores to ensure fairness across different exam sessions.
The NEET PG 2024 exam took place on August 11, with two shifts: the first from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and the second from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM. To ensure equitable scoring, NEET PG scores will be normalised. This process includes calculating percentile scores to seven decimal places, which helps avoid any clustering effects.

According to an official notice from NBE, in this scoring method, the highest score in each shift will be set at the 100th percentile. This means that the top score for each shift will be considered the highest and all other scores will be compared relative to this top score.
For instance, if the highest score in Shift 1 is 80 per cent, and in Shift 2 it is 82 per cent, then these scores will be normalised to the 100th percentile for their respective shifts.
NBE has provided an example to illustrate the normalisation process: if the highest scores are 80 per cent in Shift 1, 82 per cent in Shift 2, 78 per cent in Shift 3, and 79 per cent in Shift 4, then each highest score will be adjusted to a 100th percentile for their respective shifts. The lowest scores will receive percentiles based on the overall performance of all candidates.
The NEET PG 2024 results are expected to be released in the first week of September, according to current trends and sources. However, this date is tentative, and an official announcement will be made on the NBE website, natboard.edu.in.
