Two naval officers had a harrowing experience during an operational demonstration rehearsal in Visakhapatnam when their parachutes became entangled mid-descent, causing them to plunge into the water. The incident occurred at Rama Krishna Beach as part of preparations by the Eastern Naval Command.
The dramatic moment, captured on video, showed one officer carrying the national flag and another struggling as their parachutes intertwined. Both officers lost control and fell rapidly into the water near the shore.

Fortunately, a nearby navy rescue boat swiftly brought the officers to safety, ensuring they were unharmed. Crowds gathered at the beach to witness the rehearsal, which is part of a grand display scheduled for the next day.
The event, with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu as the chief guest, aims to showcase the Indian Navy's prowess. Highlights will include precision demonstrations by warships, submarines, and aircraft, as well as high-speed maneuvers, amphibious assault operations, and live displays by Marine Commandos (MARCOS).
Other features of the event include the unique Hornpipe Dance by Visakhapatnam's Sea Cadet Corps and a Beating Retreat Ceremony by the Eastern Naval Command band, promising an awe-inspiring experience for attendees.
