Nand Lal, face of demonetisation, backs Modi government
The BJP government is celebrating the day as 'Anti-black money day'.
Rahul Gandhi's tweet against demonetisation with the picture of Ex-serviceman Nand Lal, whose iconic photo went viral last year, backfired as Nand Lal praised the Modi government.
On the first anniversary of demonetisation, ANI asked Nand Lal whether people benefited from the decision.

Nand Lal said, "I say, demonetisation did help. It helped control the violence unleashed by terrorists."
The opposition party is observing November 8 as Black-day. "Demonetisation is a tragedy. We stand with millions of honest Indians, whose lives and livelihoods were destroyed by PM's thoughtless act," Rahul Gandhi tweeted.
However, the BJP government is celebrating the day as 'Anti-black money day'.
Later, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will participate in a candle-light vigil as part of the Opposition parties' "Black Day" protest in Surat, the textile and diamond capital of the country. He is expected to have have informal meetings with the industry representatives and workers during the day, sources in the Congress said.
