Mumbai Murder: Victim Was Orphan, Had Met Live-In Partner at Ration Shop In 2014

In a shocking turn of events, the dismembered body of 32-year-old Saraswati Vaidya was discovered in her seventh-floor apartment in Mira Road, Mumbai. The prime suspect in the case is her live-in partner, 56-year-old Manoj Sane, whom she had met at a ration shop back in 2014.

Sane, who was employed at the Borivali-based ration shop, and Vaidya quickly developed a romantic relationship and eventually decided to move in together. However, their seemingly ordinary coexistence took a sinister turn, leading to a gruesome murder that has left the community in shock.

Saraswati, an orphan, met her tragic demise as her body was found dismembered and scattered throughout the apartment. Police arrived at the scene to a horrifying sight-body parts were discovered in buckets and some had been subjected to boiling in a cooker.

Neighbors became suspicious when a putrid odor permeated the vicinity, arousing concerns about what might be happening behind the closed doors of apartment no. 704. Few had known the names of the couple before this ghastly incident, as they kept to themselves.

Manoj, who had been living separately from his family despite owning a house in Borivali, revealed to the police that the ration shop had closed on May 29. Meanwhile, he and Vaidya had been residing together in their apartment for the past five years. According to reports, police force divulged that the couple had a history of frequent fights.

The chilling murder came to light when authorities forcibly entered the apartment around 7 pm on Wednesday, prompted by a concerned neighbor named Somesh Srivastava, who had detected the foul smell emanating from the couple's flat. Srivastava knocked on their door but received no response. He then heard a sound resembling a spray, following which Manoj Sane emerged.

"Manoj Sane informed me that he was leaving for some work. Subsequently, I immediately alerted the building administration, and together we notified the police," recounted Srivastava.

The decomposed body parts were carefully collected in plastic bags and bed sheets before being sent to Mumbai's JJ Hospital for further analysis. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jayant Bajbale, confirmed that a murder case had been registered at the Naya Nagar police station.

Sane, however, claimed that his partner had taken poison and committed suicide. The police are currently investigating the case, piecing together evidence to determine the truth behind this tragic incident that has shaken the local community to its core.
