Mumbai: Minor gangraped by 6, all accused arrested

Mumbai, Aug 6: In a horrifying incident in Mumbai, a 15-year old girl was gangraped by 6 men at a shop in suburban Chembur at 2:30 am on Wednesday.

Police said that the incident was reported by a rickshaw driver who dropped a customer at an opposite building. The lottery ship was named as 'Harsha Enterprises' located in Pestom Sagar Colony in Chembur. Inaugurated on Monday, the shop is said to be owned by underworld gangster Chhota Rajan's associate Vimal Rattesar. One Rajesh Rajusth is teh caretaker of the shop.

Rape

Senior Inspector of Tilak Nagar police station Bhagwat Sonavane said,"When the driver heard a woman's cries coming from inside the shop, he alerted the police and told them that something fishy was going on inside."

A police patrol van stationed close by rushed to the spot and arrested all the six. Police said that the men had also brought liquor and had forced the minor to consume alcohol before asking her to dancer on bollywood numbers. They then raped her.

Police further added,"Police are trying to find out whether the girl had gone to the shop with one of the arrested accused, whom she knew, or whether she was forcefully brought there with the intention to gang rape." Rajusth and his bodyguard Vinod are said to have been there till 1:30 am and it is suspected that they too may have been involved in the crime.

While the victim has been admitted to Rajawadi hospital in Ghatkopar East, the accused were arrested under relevant sections of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.
