MS Dhoni Is The Brand Ambassador For Jharkhand Assembly Polls 2024

Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be the brand ambassador of the Jharkhand Assembly polls as the state gears up for the two-phase elections.

Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar on Saturday announced that Dhoni has given the green signal to be the brand ambassador for the upcoming polls as the Election Commission tries to create awareness about the importance of voting.

In a video shared by IANS, K Ravi Kumar said, "Mahendra Singh Dhoni has given his consent to the Election Commission for his photo and video. Cricketer Dhoni will appeal to the voters of Jharkhand to vote, and he has agreed to this. We are in touch with him regarding other details. In a democratic system, citizens have the right to vote..."

Kumar added that the star cricketer has given permission to use his photo in the EC's promotional materials. He added, "We are in touch with him for other details. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will work for the mobilization of voters."

Dhoni, who hails from Jharkhand, enjoys a huge fan following and a role model to millions of people across the world. His presence is expected to boost the voters' turnout.

The elections will be held on November 13 and November 20 with the counting scheduled to be held on November 23.

Ther are around 2.60 crore electors in Jharkhand out of which 11.84 lakh first-time voters and 1.13 lakh persons with disabilities, third-gender individuals, and senior citizens over 85.

The BJP is trying to wrest power from the JMM-Congress government.
