Sanjay Raut receives murder threats from Lawrence Bishnoi gang

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP and chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut has received a death threat allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Raut received a threatening message from Lawrence Bishnoi gang mentioning murdering him like Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moose Wala in Delhi, the Mumbai cops said.

Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Punjab's Mansa district, a day after the state government withdrew his security cover in May 2022.

A man has been detained in Pune in connection with the case. "The accused person who was detained in Pune related to a threat message to Sanjay Raut used the name of Lawrence Bishnoi. He will also be interrogated related to the threat message to actor Salman Khan. The accused's connection with the Bishnoi gang will also be probed," Mumbai Police told ANI.

The message, which Raut received on his WhatsApp, warned that whenever he is seen in New Delhi, he would be shot dead with an AK-47 rifle, according to a report in IANS.

It may be recalled that he had written to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on the threats to his life.

Ambadas Danve, Sena (UBT) Leader of Opposition (Council), says that the Shinde government has removed Raut's security and urged that the threats must be taken seriously.

Similarly, Bollywood actor Salman Khan had received threats from gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar and another person.

The Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar and another person after an e-mail threatening actor Khan was received at his office in the city.

The sender of the e-mail, written in Hindi, said: "Goldy Bhai (Goldy Brar) wanted to talk with Salman Khan face to face to close the matter", adding, "Agli baar, jhatka dekhne ko milega (You'll see something shocking)".

A 21-year-old man from Rajasthan was arrested in connection with a threat mail to the actor.
