MP: Lokayukta unearths assets worth Rs 20 crore from senior engineer's residence
Bhopal, Dec 16: In a raid conducted at residences and properties of state's senior Rural Engineering Services (RES) official SS Ali, the Lokayukta police in Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Madhya Pradesh on Monday seized cash and assets estimated around Rs 20 crore.

The cops seized cash worth Rs 75,000, 3 bank accounts and documents related to some properties from his Balaghat based residence. Gold jewellery worth 7 lakhs, three cars, and another Rs 75,000 were recovered from his other residences.
Ali, 61, was posted for the last two years in Balaghat and is working as the Executive Engineer. His retirement was due in a year.
As per an NDTV report, Padma Vilochan Shukla, Superintendent of Police, Lokayukta Police said, "Today the Lokayukta team from Jabalpur conducted raids at the residences of assistant engineer SS Ali in Jabalpur, Balaghat, Indore and unearthed assets worth Rs 20 crore."
According to the sleuths, the official might have amassed assets and wealth between Rs 6 and 7 crores.
