Chhattisgarh CM Compares Modi Govt's Decade to Congress' 60 Years

In a recent statement, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted the achievements of the Narendra Modi government, contrasting them with the Congress party's six-decade tenure. During an election meeting in Mandla district, Madhya Pradesh, Sai, who took office in December of the previous year, emphasized the significant strides made under Modi's leadership in just ten years. As the first adivasi Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and a member of the Baiga tribe, Sai's leadership is presented as evidence of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) commitment to inclusivity and recognition of tribal communities.

Modi Vs Congress: CMs Take

Sai's remarks were made in support of BJP candidate and Union minister Faggan Singh Kulaste, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 19 in Madhya Pradesh. He pointed out that the Congress party had historically viewed tribals merely as a vote bank, whereas the BJP has taken tangible steps to honour and empower them. This includes his own appointment as Chief Minister and the election of Droupadi Murmu as the President of India, marking a significant milestone for tribal representation in the country's leadership.

The Chief Minister accused the Congress of engaging in corruption during its time in power and failing to deliver on its promises to the people. In contrast, he praised Modi's government for its focus on all-round development and initiatives aimed at making various segments of society self-dependent, including the poor, youth, rural residents, and farmers.

Furthermore, Sai noted a growing disenchantment with the Congress among the public, as evidenced by several prominent leaders leaving the party to join the BJP. This shift is seen as indicative of a broader loss of faith in the Congress and its policies.

The elections in Madhya Pradesh are being closely watched, with Mandla being one of the key constituencies going to polls in the first phase. Sai's comments underscore the BJP's campaign narrative of development and inclusivity, setting a stark contrast with what he describes as decades of misrule by the Congress.

As India gears up for these crucial elections, Sai's statements reflect not only on his personal journey from a common party worker to Chief Minister but also on what he views as a transformative period under Modi's leadership. The BJP's efforts to elevate tribal leaders like Sai and Murmu are presented as part of a broader agenda to bring about substantive change and progress across all levels of Indian society.
