Part of a temple also damaged in the landslide.
Shimla police said that people stuck in houses below the debris were rescued and 2-3 empty cars were still under debris.
Early this month, the Shimla-Kalka National Highway (NH- 22) was blocked following a massive landslide near Jabli between Parwanoo and Dharampur, bringing vehicular traffic to a halt.
Highways have become highly landslide-prone due to massive cutting of fragile hills and low retaining walls and breast walls which are incapable of holding the strata.
